Subway® Gift Card and CashStar
Terms and Conditions
- General Terms
The Subway® Gift Card currently comes in two forms: (i) a physical Gift Card; and (ii) an electronically-transmitted eGift Card. The term “Subway® Gift Card,” as used herein, refers to both the physical version of the Gift Card and the eGift Card, except where indicated otherwise.
Subway® Gift Cards are issued by Value Pay Services LLC (“VPS”). Subway® Gift Cards ordered through www.subway.com and this website, or through the Subway® App, are distributed by CashStar, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“CashStar”).
Similarly, use of the Subway® App constitutes acceptance of the Subway® App User Agreement and Privacy Statement, each of which you should also read carefully.
The Subway® Gift Card Terms and Conditions and Subway® App User Agreement may be modified or terminated at any time. Likewise, VPS and CashStar also reserve the right to change the additional terms and conditions set forth below from time to time in their discretion.
- Use of Subway® Gift Cards
The physical Subway® Gift Card is usable up to its balance only to purchase goods and services at participating Subway® restaurant locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, online at www.subway.com or through the Subway® App.
The Subway® eGift Card is usable up to its balance only to purchase goods and services at participating Subway® restaurants in the U.S. and Canada, through www.subway.com or through the Subway® App. eGift Cards without a QR code must be registered prior to use. Currently available in USD only.
The Subway® Gift Card must be presented at the time of order to be used to purchase goods and services.
The Subway® Gift Card may also be used in connection with the Subway® MyWay™ Rewards Program.

There are no fees associated with the sale of Subway® Gift Cards, with the following exceptions: For physical Subway® Gift Cards, photo customization and expedited shipping are each available at an additional charge.
There are no fees associated with the use of SUBWAY Cards.
The Subway® Gift Card is reloadable, though limitations on reloadability and maximum balance may apply. The maximum value that can be associated with any one Subway® Gift Card at any given time is $500.00. The maximum value that can be associated with a Subway® Gift Card on any calendar day, between beginning balance and reload activity, is $2,000.00. No single individual may purchase Subway® Gift Cards with a total value of more than $10,000.00 on any calendar day.
The Subway® Gift Card may not be used to purchase other Subway® Gift Cards, and is not redeemable for cash except as required by law. The Subway® Gift Card also may not be resold without VPS’s prior consent.
- Privacy Policies
VPS and CashStar may provide Subway® Gift Card purchasers with information about the redemption status of Gift Cards, and related matters.
- Risk of Loss
Ownership and risk of loss of Subway® Gift Cards passes to the purchaser as soon as the Gift Card is delivered to the designated shipping carrier or is transmitted by email. We are not responsible for lost or stolen Subway® Gift Cards. If you have any questions, please see this site’s FAQ page.
- Subway® Gift Card Customer Support
If you need assistance or have questions regarding any aspect of your purchase, ownership, or use of a Subway®Gift Card, please contact Customer Support. So we may access your order, you will be asked to provide your order number or email address.
- Payment Methods
Subway® Gift Cards purchased through this website may be paid for with a valid VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express card, or with PayPal.
- Purchaser Verification and Delivery Information
All orders of Subway® Gift Cards are subject to a process that compares purchaser information provided through this site with information about the purchaser provided by the purchaser's financial institution. If there is a discrepancy, your Gift Card order may be delayed until the discrepancy can be corrected.
If the date on which you want a Subway® Gift Card delivered has passed and you have not received confirmation that the Gift Card was sent, please contact Customer Support. So we may access your order, you will be asked to provide your order number or email address.
We are not responsible for Subway® Gift Cards that are undeliverable or not received due to your failure to enter an accurate physical or email address for the recipient. Please check to make sure the physical delivery address or email address of the recipient is correct and contact Customer Support if you suspect the recipient did not receive his/her Gift Card(s).
- Personalized Messages
If you wish to add a personal message to a Subway® Gift Card, simply type your message in the Message field during the purchase process. Personal messages on Subway® Gift Cards are limited to the space provided in the Message Field. There is no additional charge to add a personalized message to a Gift Card.
We don’t read every gift message, but if we do find inappropriate, offensive, or otherwise objectionable messages, we reserve the right to cancel the order. Thanks for your cooperation.
- Photo / Video Customization
When purchasing a physical Subway® Gift Card, you have the option of uploading an image for display on the Gift Card for an additional charge of $2.50.
When purchasing a Subway® eGift Card, you have the option of uploading an image for display on the Gift Card or uploading a video message to be associated with the Gift Card at no additional cost.
We reserve the right to reject images or video messages which are inappropriate, offensive, or otherwise objectionable. We also reserve the right to reject images or video messages that infringe upon trademark or copyright law. By uploading an image or video message for display on or in connection with a Subway® Gift Card, you are representing and warranting that you are authorized to use any trademarked or copyrighted content, and you are granting VPS and CashStar a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use the image in connection with the creation of the Card.
Note: Any uploaded images or video messages which feature Subway® Logos, Cards, menu items, or other proprietary images must be approved prior to their use or distribution. This includes any custom Subway® Gift Card art work and any supporting collateral or web materials. Custom Subway® Gift Cards will automatically be reviewed against brand guidelines prior to production. Supporting collateral materials must be pre-authorized. To obtain pre-authorization, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Resolution of Disputes / Limitations of Liability and Damages
Visit www.subway.com for complete Subway® Gift Card Terms and Conditions regarding the resolution of disputes arising out of or relating to use of Subway® Gift Cards, and the limitations of liability and damages applicable thereto. You should read those Terms and Conditions carefully. They require binding arbitration of most disputes instead of litigation in court, and affect legal rights that you may otherwise have.
By visiting this site, you also hereby agree and consent that any dispute with CashStar relating in any way to Subway® Gift Cards shall be governed by the laws of Maine, without reference to any rules regarding conflicts of law, and shall be adjudicated in Cumberland County, Maine if the aggregate total claim for relief exceeds $7,500.00, in which case you hereby consent to exclusive jurisdiction and venue in such courts.
CASHSTAR, AND ITS AFFILIATES, MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO Subway® GIFT CARDS ORDERED THROUGH THIS SITE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IF A Subway® GIFT CARD CODE IS NON-FUNCTIONAL, YOUR SOLE REMEDY, AND OUR SOLE LIABILITY, SHALL BE THE REPLACEMENT OF SUCH GIFT CARD. CERTAIN STATE LAWS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES. IF THESE LAWS APPLY TO YOU, SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE DISCLAIMERS, EXCLUSIONS, OR LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU, AND YOU MIGHT HAVE ADDITIONAL RIGHTS.
REGISTER. RELOAD. REUSE.
This Subway® Card can be loaded with a dollar value and used to purchase goods and services at participating SUBWAY restaurants in the U.S. and Canada, and certain online venues. The Card may not be used to purchase other Cards and is not redeemable for cash except where required by law. The prepaid card balance never expires, nor are any fees charged in connection with its use. Check your balance at subway.com or call 1-877-697-8222. The remaining balance on lost, stolen, or damaged Cards will be replaced only if the Card has been registered and proof of purchase is provided.
